The second edition of the “International Value Creators Summit,” organized by Lob’in International at the world-renowned University of Oxford in England, has been held. At the summit, Turkuvaz Media’s UK Representative Alpaslan Düven was presented with the “Journalist of the Year Award.”
“Journalist of the Year Award” Goes to Turkuvaz
At the summit, Alpaslan Düven—Turkuvaz Media’s UK Representative—received the “Journalist of the Year Award”for his original work in the field of international media, his social awareness initiatives, civil society leadership, and his book “The Transformation of Journalism Between 1995–2025.”
Düven received the award from the 5th President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar.
Future of Cyprus Discussed at the Summit
Moderated by Istanbul Arel University’s Head of the International Relations Department, Uğur Özgöker, the summit addressed key topics including the historical background of the Cyprus issue, current diplomatic developments, and future political, economic, and social perspectives.
At the summit, which brought together representatives from politics, diplomacy, academia, business, and the media—and where TRNC 5th President Ersin Tatar attended as guest of honor—other award recipients included Lon’in President Fahri Ustaoğlu, Girne American University Founder and Democrat Party MP Serhat Akpınar, AK Party Istanbul MP Serkan Bayram, Istanbul Arel University’s International Relations Department Chair Prof. Dr. Uğur Özgöker, Oxford University’s Assoc. Prof. Emir Özeren, International Diplomat Union Vice President Mgr. Halil Sert, and journalist Hülya Özkoyuncu.

Who is Alpaslan Düven?
Düven, who holds a Permanent Press Card, began his journalism career in 1995 at Sabah newspaper. He worked as a reporter for Show TV and Kent TV and served as Press and Public Relations Advisor for the Darülaceze Foundation. Living in France and the UK since 2000, Düven is the President of the Turkish-British Journalists Association, a member of the UK National Union of Journalists, and a Press Card holder. He completed his Master’s degree at New Buckinghamshire University with a thesis on “Artificial Intelligence.” He currently serves as Turkuvaz Media’s UK Representative.
