The second edition of the “Life-Changing Leaders Summit,” organized by Lob’in International, was held at the world-renowned University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. During the summit, Alpaslan Düven, UK Representative of Turkuvaz Media, was honored with the “Journalist of the Year Award.”
At the summit, Alpaslan Düven—Turkuvaz Media’s UK Representative—was recognized for his original contributions to international media, his strong sense of social responsibility, his leadership in civil society, and his book titled “The Transformation of Journalism Between 1995 and 2025.” He received the “Journalist of the Year Award” from Ersin Tatar, the 5th President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Alpaslan Düven Issues Statement Following “Journalist of the Year Award”
Following his receipt of the Journalist of the Year Award at the Life-Changing Leaders Summit held at the University of Oxford, Alpaslan Düven, UK Representative of Turkuvaz Media, issued a statement of thanks.
Düven expressed his appreciation to Lob’in International for organizing the summit and for recognizing his work in journalism, emphasizing that the award represents not only a personal achievement but also a responsibility to uphold ethical, socially responsible, and impactful journalism.

Cyprus’ Future Discussed at the Summit
Moderated by Prof. Dr. Uğur Özgöker, Head of the Department of International Relations at Istanbul Arel University, the summit’s main agenda included the historical background of the Cyprus issue, current diplomatic developments, and future political, economic, and social perspectives.
In addition to representatives from politics, diplomacy, academia, business, and the media, the summit was attended by TRNC 5th President Ersin Tatar as the guest of honor. Among those who were also deemed worthy of awards were Lon’in President Fahri Ustaoğlu; Founder of Girne American University and Democrat Party Member of Parliament Serhat Akpınar; AK Party Istanbul Member of Parliament and attorney Serkan Bayram; Prof. Dr. Uğur Özgöker of Istanbul Arel University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emir Özeren from Oxford University; Deputy President of the International Union of Diplomats Mgr. Halil Sert; and journalist Hülya Özkoyuncu.

Turkuvaz Media Group receives international recognition in Oxford
Turkuvaz Media Group strengthened its global positioning with a recognition in the U.K. During a ceremony on Saturday hosted on the historic campus of the University of Oxford, the media group’s U.K. Representative, Alpaslan Düven, was presented with the “International Value Creator Award,” marking the second installment of the International Value Creators Awards organized by Lob-in International.
The accolade was delivered by the fifth president of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and underscored Turkuvaz Media Group’s expanding influence across international communication platforms and its sustained contribution to cross-border media engagement.
